Passthrough Dishwashers

About our passthrough dishwashers

Passthrough dishwashers come in a range of build qualities and performances suitable for washing for between 80 and 300 full covers per hour

Passthrough dishwashers fit between two tables, the soiled (dirties) table and the clean table. These tables are joined to the passthrough dishwasher to that water drains back into the dishwasher. The setup can be either in a straight line or into and out of a corner.

The idea of a passthrough dishwasher is that soiled items are stacked, sorted and racked up into baskets, pre rinsed with a pre rinse spay over the sink before being slid into the dishwasher for washing, when washed the clean pots are slid onto the clean table to allow to air dry. A passthrough dishwasher eliminates lifting full dishwasher baskets in and out of the dishwasher as with a front loading commercial dishwasher this makes passthrough dishwashers suitable for higher volume commercial dishwashing installations were the dishwasher is in use for longer periods

The tables for a passthrough dishwasher can be made to fit your own dimensions and application within 10 days or we do keep our own standard table in stock for immediate delivery and installation.

Passthrough dishwashers have wash cycles between 1 and 5 minutes although the one minute wash cycle is only suitable for very lightly soiled items such as glasses, for dishwashing you should work on a 2 or 3 minute wash cycle.
Passthrough dishwashers use removable dishwasher baskets (typically 500 x 500mm), one basket is washed at a time. Dishwasher baskets come in several types, plate baskets take 18 x 10” dinner plates or 12 soup plates, open baskets are used for cups, mugs and glasses, (typically up to 36 per basket) cutlery is washed vertically in special containers that fit into the open baskets, other baskets are available for more specialised use are available for use in your front loading commercial dishwasher.

A typical passthrough dishwasher connected to a 20 amp 3 phases electrical supply and fed with hot water will be able to perform 1 wash every minute. (So you would be able to wash a maximum of 1080 plates per hour)

A typical commercial dishwasher connected to a 30 amp single phase electrical supply and fed with cold water will be able to perform 1 wash every 3 minutes. (So you would be able to wash a maximum of 360 plates per hour)

Water consumption on a passthrough dishwasher is typically 2.5 – 5 litres per wash (this does not include the initial fill).

Detergents and rinse aid pumps are normally built into the dishwasher, 2 hoses are protrude from the back of the dishwasher one for the detergent and one for the rinse aid.
Passthrough dishwashers will only produce good wash results when connected to a soft water supply, in 70% of the UK your commercial dishwasher will need a water softener, these can be either built into the dishwasher from the factory or external to the dishwasher, our trained specialists will be able to give you more advice when you speak to them.
